Who is VPRO aimed at?
VPRO is specifically aimed at small businesses and home workers that demand more from their connection requirements. There comes a point where a contended residential service no longer meets the needs of a growing business, but the next step to a full blown leased line service is just not economically viable. This is where VPRO comes into its own. A fast, solid and reliable connection that rivals leased line equivalents, all for a fraction of the price.

Huge advantages over SDSL/bonded ADSL equivalents
When compared to SDSL, bonded ADSL and even leased line circuits, there are huge advantages to be had. Whilst SDSL and ADSL are hampered by commonly found distance restraints, VPRO wireless solutions have been proved time and time again to smash these distance limitations. Tests have shown that VFast connections can operate at over 50Mbps at distances of up to 15Km! These massive overheads ensure that the VPRO service can be reliably delivered to areas that are simply “too far from the exchange”!

Our VPRO connections are often referred to as affordable “wireless leased lines”, and with the performance on offer it is not hard to see why! As well as this though, VPRO is available at a fraction of the price when compared to the alternatives, and you could save thousands every year, helping your small business grow when it matters most!

Remote workers
VPRO has massively faster upload speeds than other solutions and this is a key requirement when you need to allow remote workers to connect into your LAN. With a symmetrical service, you can ensure that remote workers can connect into the office and carry out their duties as if they were actually sat at their office computer!

How is VPRO supplied?
VPRO is supplied via a small antenna that is fitted to the property. This antenna connects wirelessly to one of our nearby core transmitters that in turn are fed into our high speed fibre backhaul. From the antenna, an RJ-45 (Ethernet) cable is run into the property, terminating into either a standalone computer or more commonly, into a cable router/firewall. Connectivity is either via PPPoE or a single static IP that can be supplied on request.

Do I qualify for VPRO?
VPRO is set up as a bridging option to help small businesses make the step up from a residential service, without having to commit to an expensive leased line service. As such, there are requirements that have to be met in order to qualify. The business must have five or less employees and a turnover of under £500k per annum. In terms of your LAN requirements, you are allowed to host an email server only. We do not offer the facility to host multiple servers with the VPRO package, which is never normally an issue for small businesses. Limitations
The VPro package is designed for people that work from home, or for small businesses and as such offers excellent functionality. VPro does offer limitations for clients that wish to intend to host and run their own servers however, with the exception of mail servers. Where clients wish to host their own servers and have larger scale business requirements, it is recommended that you contact Orbital Net Ltd to discuss a suitable solution.
